Summary: Flash Paycheck Calculator stores all paycheck data on your device only. We do not operate servers that receive your financial data. Analytics and crash reports contain no personally identifiable information.
1 Information We Collect
We collect information in the following categories:
- Paycheck & Financial Inputs — Gross pay, deductions, tax withholding, and period data you enter into the calculator. This data is stored exclusively on your device using Android's local storage (SharedPreferences / local database). It is never transmitted to our servers.
- Device Information — Device model, OS version, and app version, collected automatically by Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to help us diagnose crashes and understand usage patterns.
- Usage Events — Anonymized in-app events (e.g., screen views, feature interactions) collected by Firebase Analytics. These events contain no financial data and no personally identifiable information.
- Crash Reports — If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics automatically sends a crash report including device state, stack trace, and app version. No financial data is included in crash reports.
- Advertising Identifiers — Google AdMob collects the Android Advertising ID (AAID) to serve personalized advertisements. See Section 4 for details and opt-out options.
2 How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve the paycheck calculation features
- Diagnose app crashes and fix bugs using anonymized crash reports
- Understand which features are used most (aggregate, anonymized analytics)
- Display relevant advertisements via Google AdMob
- Send local push notifications as reminders (e.g., payday reminders you configure)
We do not sell your data, share financial data with third parties, or use your paycheck information for any purpose other than displaying it to you within the app.
3 Third-Party Services
The app integrates the following third-party SDKs. Each has its own privacy policy:
These services may collect data as described in their respective privacy policies. We do not control their data practices.
4 Advertising & Ad Identifiers
Flash Paycheck Calculator displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use the Android Advertising ID (AAID) to show you personalized ads based on your interests.
- Opt out of personalized ads: Go to your device's Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
- Reset your ad identifier: In the same settings screen, tap Reset advertising ID.
- Non-personalized ads: If you opt out, AdMob will still show ads but they will not be tailored to your interests.
We do not share any financial data you enter into the app with advertisers.
5 Children's Privacy
Flash Paycheck Calculator is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email below and we will take steps to delete such information.
6 Data Retention
- Local paycheck data — Retained on your device until you delete it within the app or uninstall the app.
- Analytics data — Firebase Analytics retains aggregated, anonymized event data for up to 14 months per Google's default retention settings.
- Crash reports — Firebase Crashlytics retains crash data for 90 days.
7 Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access & deletion — All financial data you entered is on your device. Delete it within the app's History screen or by uninstalling the app.
- Opt out of analytics — You can limit ad tracking via device settings (see Section 4). Firebase Analytics respects the device-level "Limit Ad Tracking" setting.
- Notification control — You can disable all app notifications at any time via Settings → Apps → Flash Paycheck Calculator → Notifications.
- GDPR / CCPA requests — Contact us at the email below and we will respond within 30 days.
8 Security
Your financial data never leaves your device. It is stored in Android's application-private storage, inaccessible to other apps without root access.
Data transmitted to Firebase (analytics events, crash reports) is encrypted in transit using TLS. We rely on Google's infrastructure security for these services.
No security system is 100% impenetrable. We encourage you to keep your device OS up to date and to use a secure device lock screen.
9 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via an in-app message.
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
